The Franklin Lakes Library Launches the Career Center from Tutor.com
Help for adults writing resumes, job searching or going back to school

The Franklin Lakes Library launched a new program today that offers adults, one-to-one help from certified tutors and career specialists online.   Any community member with a library card can access the new online services from the library or right from home.  The Career Center from Tutor.com includes live, one-to-one career help including help writing a resume, searching for a job or preparing for an interview.  Adults may also connect to a tutor for help with school work, preparing for the GED, or the citizenship test.  The live, online tutoring and resume writing service is available seven days a week from 3PM to 10PM.  The service is completely free for our community thanks to the Franklin Lakes Library.  To access the service please click here.

Helping Adults through the Economic Downturn
With the unemployment rate still at a high, the Franklin Lakes Library wants to help adults get the one-to-one assistance they need to find a new job, go back to school or complete the GED. Tutor.com has a network of 1,900 certified tutors as well as career specialists who are ready to help with just about any question a person may have.   Adults simply click here to choose the area they need help with, type in their question and then they connect to a tutor or career specialist in an interactive online classroom.

Tutor.com’s Career Center also includes real-time writing assistance from English tutors or career specialists for adults working on resumes.   Students and job seekers get immediate feedback, writing tips and strategies as well as proofreading.  The Career Center also includes 24/7 access to thousands of resources including study guides, worksheets, videos and more in  math, science, social studies, English, resume writing,  GED prep, Citizenship exam prep and more.
