Libraries Are The Heart Of Any Community

Dear Neighbor,

Every Year at this time we reach out to invite you to join us by becoming a member of the FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY, one of community's greatest assets. It is through your generous contributions to the Friends that the library is able to offer all its residents knowledge, entertainment, a sense of adventure and the ability to explore through a wonderful mix of cultural programs and technology in addition to its outstanding range of reading, audio and learning resources. And they are available and utilized by everyone - children, teens, adults and seniors.

This past year, the number person participating in the library's adult programs grew by nearly 27%, an indication that residents are using and appreciating the variety of interesting and creative projects the Friends help to fund.

In addition to all the library's special events, the "Friendship Path" of personalized bricks on the walkway into the library continues to grow and this year the Friends are offering a free individual or family membership with the purchase of a personalized paver. A 4" by 8" brick will come with an individual membership and an 8" by 8" brick will enable your whole family to become members. For donations of $500 and above, a hand painted leaf with your name on it will be added to our Friendship Tree mural in the David Brady Quiet Reading Room. Please see the enclosed form for ordering information.

To those who have joined the Friends in the past, we offer our appreciation and hope that you will continue your membership. To those who are considering membership, we invite you to become involved. We also welcome you to join our lively board to help us plan our annual luncheon and art show or to bring new ideas to the table.

Sincerely,

The Friends of the Franklin Lakes Library

P.S. Remember, you still have an opportunity to lay an engraved brick in our “Friendship Path” – it makes a perfect remembrance gift. Please see the enclosed order form.

P.S.S. If you ever donate $500 or more, we will most appreciatively add your name on a leaf as part of our beautiful, ongoing mural in the Quiet Reading room. If you haven’t stopped on the second floor and peeked in to admire local artist Liz Barbagallo’s handiwork, please do!
